Vinnies Goes Fur-Free in Western Australia!
Posted by Faith Taylor | June 29th, 2016For taking a stand against selling cruelly produced animal fur, St Vincent de Paul Society in Western Australia has received a PETA Australia Proggy Award.
PETA’s Proggy Awards (“Proggy” is for “progress”) recognise animal-friendly achievements in commerce and culture.
Vinnies’ 48 stores across the state will no longer be selling items made from animal fur, and it plans to donate all existing fur items to be repurposed by local animal-welfare groups.
By giving fur the cold shoulder, Vinnies proves it’s an organisation dedicated to advocating for justice and quality of life for all beings.
