Perth Restaurants

Whereas several years ago vegetarians had to resort to Subway, there are several new venues that have opened for a vegetarian friendly lunchtime trade in the city, and most are making a roaring trade. While nothing in the CBD caters exclusively for vegetarians, and there can be no guarantee that vegetarian foods are cooked and prepared in separate equipment to animal products, there is plenty variety for vegetarians of all degrees.

A classy and funky joint, Artezan Cafe is a friendly place catering to anyone who walks through its doors. A step up from the standard cafe fare, the menu features plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options. Local artisans have lent their talents to the retro-styled paintings on the wall, and it is a close walk to the beach. It's therefore little wonder this cafe has been made a finalist in the Gold Plate Awards.

Lanna Thai Cuisine

Owners Kitti and Kadjana have filled their restaurant with intricate decorations, carvings and statues from their ancestral home in northern Thailand - creating a space that's warm, inviting and very family friendly. If you're lucky, you may even be shown to your table by Kitti and Kadjana's infant son, clothed, like all the waiting staff, in traditional northern Thai dress.

If you are looking for a meal with a secret then this has to be the place, Hidden on the corner of Beaufort and Chelmsford is a very inexpensive take away. The service is always prompt (and with a smile) and the food is out of this world! It has a wide range of vegeterian dishes to suit any palette and the prices are really, really reasonable...Did I mention cheap? Highly recommended.
