Perth Restaurants
Whereas several years ago vegetarians had to resort to Subway, there are several new venues that have opened for a vegetarian friendly lunchtime trade in the city, and most are making a roaring trade. While nothing in the CBD caters exclusively for vegetarians, and there can be no guarantee that vegetarian foods are cooked and prepared in separate equipment to animal products, there is plenty variety for vegetarians of all degrees.

Spiel: Lunchtime venue offering an all you can eat buffet for $7 at last check, with student concessions, making this one of Perth's cheapest eating establishments. Food is a bean/vegetable curry, pakora, semolina, salad, and lassie, with pasta on Mondays. Take aways available from 4pm for $2.50 at last check. As a liberal amount of salt, ghee and dairy is used in most dishes this is unsuitable for vegans or those wanting to limit fat and salt intake

Type: Buffet/A La Carte Nonya Malaysian Cuisine and vegetarian market.
Spiel: Restaurant specialising in buffet and a la carte Nonya style Malay cooking, Mock meat curries such as Chicken Lemak are their most appealing dishes. Buffet around $18, A la carte around $40 for 2 people (excluding desert).Take away and lunch specials $8.50. When dining at the buffet, make sure you get in early as the best dishes dissapear quickly and not often replaced. A la carte items listed are sometimes unavailable,and staff may serve you a different dish without prior negotiation, so be prepared. Vegans be wary that whey powder and egg may be used in some dishes. The venue does benefit from having Perth's largest and most comprehensive mock meet retail outlet adjoining the restaurant.

I have been twice now to One World, and both times I have thoroughly enjoyed myself. It is a buffet style restaurant along a similar vein to Sri Melaka, with a heavy leaning towards Asian style mock meat cuisine, and while Sri Melaka has the advantage of being more centrally located, One World has the advantage of friendlier staff, a wider variety of food, and more consistent quality.

Completely vegetarian restaurant with good range of vegan choices (usually marked but check with staff). Asian style buffet at both lunch and dinner. Enjoy a snack from the Snack bar in the lounge sitting area which has a great range of vegetarian/vegan books to read. Snacks include vegetarian burgers, hot dogs, sushi, and vegan cake.

How Veg*n?:Mostly vegetarian - some white meat and dairy products, no obvious indication as to whether meat and vegetarian products are produced separately. Many vegetarian items are dairy free, and the diner can be safely assured that these products are free from egg, meat stock and animal based condiments.

Type: Design-Your-Own sandwich and coffee cafe done in the subway
style: People behind the counter do all the filling for you.
How Veg*n: Amongst the teriyaki chicken, tuna, and smoked ham there's respite with chilli tofu, cut up veggie burger and a plethora of salads and vegan friendly condiments. The options are better here than most MYO sandwich places, and should cater to vegetarians of all persuasions.
