Work for the Dole

Work for the Dole (WFD), a government initiated scheme, provides work experience and placements for job seekers in approved activities which provide facilities and services to local communities.

PAWS working together with Communicare have many activities in which centrelink approved job seekers are able to gain experience from including a diverse range of activities, these activities offer extensive work experiences addressing the skills in demand in this area in a wide variety of tasks. PAWS is able to offer computer and internet access for training and education and job search. PAWS offers the ability to select a majority of tasks in areas of interest and in addition assist participants to develop new skills increasing employment opportunities and self confidence. Through WFD, participants may also earn a Training Credit and receive a Passport to Employment.
